Ribbon Incentive Program
Within the studio we have a Ribbon Incentive Program. Students earn various ribbons for their participation in activities throughout the year. Ribbons are awarded at the Spring Recital.
RED
Student earns 200 points for practicing consistently.
BLUE
Student participates in 2 studio recitals (winter and spring).
ORANGE
Student participates in 2 outside activities: Play-a-thon, Duet Festival, Solo Contest, Piano Exams, Pop Concert, School Talent Show, or playing during a church service. One activity may be with another instrument or voice (choir or band concert).
WHITE
Students passes his/her technique level requirements of scales, chords, arpeggios.
GREEN
Student memorizes 5 pieces (at least 16 measures each) to be played on 3 different occasions OR student memorizes 250 measures.
PURPLE
Student memorizes 10 pieces (at least 16 measures each) to be played on 3 different occasions OR student memorizes 500 measures.
YELLOW
Student passes a theory test OR earns membership in the 1-Minute Club.
PINK
Student attends (not a participant) 3 cultural events outside of school: concerts, plays, dance recitals, etc. Please bring in the program from the event or a note signed by a parent.
LIGHT BLUE
Student earns 20 sight-reading stars. (1 page =1 star)
LIGHT GREEN
Student completes a Creative Project. Possibilities include composing and notating a piece, drawing a picture to illustrate your piece, writing a poem to go with your piece, presenting a report on a composer or musical period.
LAVENDER
Student completes 4 “World of Music” assignments.
